YWAM LA Mission Statement

Our passion is to partner with the body of Christ in the completion of the Great Commission through the means of intercession, mobilization, training, equipping, and sending short and long-term workers.

Our Core Values

YWAM Los Angeles is visionary, doing new things in new ways to accomplish the Great Commission. We are called to go into all the world, intentionally focused on the unfinished task in the most unreached regions.

YWAM Los Angeles is called to champion young people. We believe in their leadership and potential to change the world and are dedicated to equip them with the tools to pioneer and establish new works.

YWAM Los Angeles is called to serve the local church by providing training, ministry tools, and resources to assist them in completing the Great Commission.

YWAM Los Angeles is committed to understanding the character and ways of God, always listening to God's voice and seeking His counsel in the process of decision-making.

YWAM Los Angeles is dedicated to being relationship-oriented in our living and working together. We desire to lead lives of mutual support, transparency, humility, and open communication.

Our Mobilization and Frontier Vision

YWAM Los Angeles is a "mobilization" base where we are committed to raise up the body of Christ to reach any nation on earth. But we are also a "frontier" base where we are radically committed to reach specific frontier locations by sending our own short and long-term workers. Currently we have seven present target nations and five future targets.

Present Targets

  1. India
  2. Nepal
  3. Thailand
  4. Afghanistan
  5. Morocco
  6. South Africa
  7. China

Future Targets

  1. Indonesia
  2. Tibet
  3. Bhutan
  4. Bangladesh
  5. Myanmar

Our present targets are nations where we are actively involved. In these nations we have various strategies such as:

  1. A support system for workers and programs in that nation
  2. Outreaches from schools, Mission Adventures, King’s Kids, etc.
  3. Short and long term workers such as individual internships and teams
  4. Targeting specific people groups in the nations.
  5. Initiatives such as planting Mission Adventure programs, building orphanages, urban ministries, starting bases, special projects and helping plant churches.

Statement of Purpose

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus Christ personally to this generation, to mobilize as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As members of God's Kingdom, we are called to love, worship and obey our Lord. We are called to love and serve His body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole man throughout the whole world.

We in Youth With A Mission believe

  • that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's Son;
  • that man is created in God's image;
  • that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ;
  • that although all men have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ;
  • that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's initiative of grace towards us;
  • that God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth;
  • and that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishing of Christ's last commandment, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
