YWAM - Los Angeles sponsors an exciting volunteer program called “Mission Builders” for those interested in involvement on a short-term basis. This allows you to work full time in support areas with full involvement in community activities.

Volunteer work is a short-term step of preparation and familiarization for those interested in pursuing long term missions. It also provides an opportunity for local Christians who aren't planning investing their whole life and career in missions.

All applications for volunteer involvement are prayerfully considered. The volunteer program is not designed to be a discipleship program or a counseling program, but rather an opportunity for Christians to be exposed to missions and discover God’s direction for their life.

Length of Time

United States citizens and foreign volunteers can join us for any length of time between two weeks and three months. If you are interested in continuing on with ministry after your three months, we encourage you to attend one of Youth With A Mission's Discipleship Training Schools. A DTS is a prerequisite for long term staff involvement at any YWAM base and establishes a solid foundation for future ministry.

Financial Support

Mission Builders need to have adequate support pledged or available before you arrive. None of our workers receives a salary, but are totally dependent on the Lord and on His people to supply their needs. We will provide free food and housing during your volunteer stay. Acceptance is conditional on available housing.

Our areas of need right now are:

-Plumber

-Carpenter/Handyman

-Auto mechanic

-Computer Technician

-Child Care Worker

-Food Service Worker
