The other morning I was skyping with a good friend of mine, updating each other on our lives. She is currently in Barcelona, Spain pioneering an YWAM base there and is absolutely killing it! In the midst of our conversation about her pioneering, she said something along the lines of, “I feel like I’m really in the game here. There is heavy opposition but also heavy blessings. God put me in this role and it’s not a little kid job, this is a big thing and I’m in it.” I’m not sure if those were her exact words but the first sentence about being “in the game” really stuck with me the rest of the day.
I want to be “in the game” with God. If God had a sports team, I don’t want to be a bench warmer or someone He puts in for the last two minutes. I want to be God’s first round pick all the time. Someone that God is constantly calling on to do things or start something new. To be someone that no matter how hard the job is, God knows that He can trust me to do it and do it well. I want to be “all in” no matter what opposition I come against and learn to be a fighter. I want God to put me in places that will strengthen me, not let me just coast through them. Someone who will be in the game with passion, zeal, and lots of faith to see what God is going to do.
My next responsibility on base is the kitchen manager, which is no small thing. I’m so excited! I know God has specifically called me to this role and I want to be “all in” with it. This is God trusting me with big tasks, not just little things. I can see how God has been equipping and preparing me for it. I have been “practicing” for this role by being obedient in the small tasks He has given me. I am trusting that everything He has been teaching me before this point was in preparation for a greater challenge even though I didn’t know what it would be. I can’t wait to tackle this new assignment. I’m ready to take the role of feeding a bunch of world changers. I will be “all in” this game.
Are you all in? What is God equipping and preparing you for? Are you practicing for it (aka, spending time with Him, being obedient in the little things, etc.)? I want to challenge all of you to do so! Seek the game that God is calling you into. He has something special for your life. Don’t be a bench warmer and miss out on the incredible opportunities and plans He has for you.
