ROOTS DTS
God is our lifeline. He is the living water where we are planted in order to live a fruitful and holy life. The fruits we bear are not meant to be kept to ourselves but to be given away to serve others and give glory back to God. DTS is a time to grow deeply rooted in God through studying His Word, laying our lives down in worship, and seeking to know His heart through prayer and intercession. Come and strengthen your roots, and reach deep into the water that is His Spirit. If we do, we will be unshakable.

TESTIMONIES
DTS changed my life in ways that I didn’t expect. I hoped to learn more about God and have an opportunity to serve Him, but it was so much more than that! I learned what it means to love the Lord with all my heart, I learned what true surrender looks like, and I learned that there is so much beauty in a life laid down to serve Him. At YWAM LA I experienced the richness of life in community: I was inspired, encouraged and challenged simply by doing life with everyone there. It’s a beautiful thing to know that you’re surrounded by people who love God and who want to help you to love Him as best you can. Outreach was an amazing adventure, and it was also incredibly challenging. I grew more than I thought possible in a really short space of time. I caught a glimpse of God’s heart for a hurting and broken world, and I learned that He wanted to use me to love people in the midst of their brokenness. When I was younger I used to sing a song about being the hands and feet of Jesus, and going wherever He sent me. Doing a DTS at YWAM LA enabled me to do just that and I'm really grateful I said "yes" to doing it.
My DTS in LA was a leap of faith. God spoke to me a few years before I did a DTS to come here and he opened the door for me to come in 2022. I never heard of YWAM before, and to come to LA was something that seemed crazy to me as I’m from a small town in central Pennsylvania. I did the anti trafficking focus in my DTS—it was fun knowing more about God and at the same time learning about anti trafficking in which I’ve been passionate about since I was 15 years old. Throughout my DTS God challenged me, healed me and stretched me. I feel so honored to have had this 6 month experience in sharing the gospel with people. In outreach I felt like I was doing what I was made to do: sharing the gospel with the nations. There were monumental times during these 6 months and I’m glad I set aside this time to know God deeper, live in community with others, and share the gospel.
My time in DTS was wonderful; through DTS I encountered God personally as the perfect Father and ruler of my life. The experiences I had were also life changing, whether it was classes, local outreach, or foreign outreach I could always count on God to move in mighty ways. Because of this I know that I can still count on him, and see the fruits of the Spirit in my life everyday. Whether it’s counting on God, or learning to seek his will for things in my life, the habits and practices I formed in DTS have continued to impact my life time and time again.
