YWAM Los Angeles Public Statement

Campus Response to COVID-2019

YWAM Los Angeles is taking very seriously the current state of the world regarding the recent outbreak of COVID-19, also referred to as the CoronaVirus. We are diligently putting in place hygiene and safety measures to do our part in the prevention of the spread of this illness. We are prudently following guidance and restrictions put in place by our local government authorities and law enforcement. We are implementing systems and community structures with the input of health care professionals; and the leadership teams of the international movement of Youth With A Mission.

Due to our current system changes we have closed our campus to the general public, our community meetings and gatherings have been canceled, and we are going above and beyond local quarantine advisements to restructure our departments, class, ministry, and meetings for staff and students.

We are being diligent to train our staff, students, and volunteers in proper hygiene and preventative measures. As leaders we are doing our best to keep our community up to date with the most accurate, helpful, and urgent information. We are considering and limiting our sources to the most experienced and qualified individuals. It is our commitment to continue pursuing the most accurate, up to date, relevant, and informed information from our many qualified sources.

We will do our best to keep the public up to date with relevant changes and information regarding our campus. We are aware that many have opinions and information on this issue. If you feel you have urgent information regarding COVID-19, you are welcome to send an email to the address above. Please consider that our leadership team is currently flooded with such information, and we may be delayed in our responses.

As a missions organization, we are committed to reaching our city and the nations with the love of Jesus through both practical and creative ways that are in line with and in submission to our local government, law, and health-care authorities. YWAM LA will be accepting monetary and tangible goods as donations to aid and distribute to those with the most pressing needs in our community.

We are calling the church body into a posture of wisdom and peace, as you RESPOND to the chaos surrounding this issue. We strongly believe that now is a time for the body of Christ to respond to the needs of a world blanketed in fear and desperation. We challenge you to respond in actions that are led by the Holy Spirit, in submission to your local authorities, and safe for you and those around you. There are many practical ways to meet the needs of the vulnerable in our communities, while still walking with wisdom. Please follow our social media for examples.
